John and Jean Mc. 9 May 1997 Mrs G Slee Thanks for the invitation to appear on your TV commercial, and newspaper ads. John and I have decided that's not really us... to be seen in public like that. Mind you, we have spoken to lots of people and told them how great we think the Rapid Debt Reduction programme is, and are quite happy if you want to use our testimony to show other people who may be looking at the programme. We first heard about it when you wrote to us a clients, about twelve months ago. Our initial response was "it sounds too good to be true... but lets have a look anyway". It came at the right time for us, because we were looking at buying another property. We came and saw Fiona, and she explained it fairly well... and then it sounded more too good to be true. We were still a bit sceptical, but we were going to go ahead and buy another property regardless... so we had nothing to lose. We've now been using the programme for less than twelve months. It has made no difference to our lifestyle... it's not restricting in any way. What is has done though, is made us more aware of how much we spend, and made us realise what we spend money on. That's been very good for us. I'd say we are streets ahead of where we would have been with a normal loan. When I checked the loan balances the other day, Janyne at the bank (who set up the loan for us) was relieving at the Teller desk. She was very surprised, and commented "that's gone down very quickly". We've dropped the $30,000 part down to $7,000 - that's $23,000 off our loans in about 10 months!
