Karijini National Park is the second largest national park in Western Australia and covers a vast section of the Hamersley Range. Here you will find spectacular rugged scenery with massive hills rising out of flat valleys. In the south of the park small creeks, dry for most of the year, plunge into sheer sided chasms upto 100m deep. These gorges provide a refreshing retreat to the hot arid hillsides and plains above. Every gorge is different, some lush and green, others sheer and rocky. Photographs can not do justice to the enormity and vastness of the gorges - visiting is the only way to really appreciate their beauty. Karijini is the traditional home of the Banjima, Innawonga and Kurrama people.
