HAYES RETURNED AS SHIRE PRESIDENT

The Shire of Ashburton has reelected Cr Brian Hayes as the Shire President for a further two years.

At its meeting held on Tuesday, 18 May 1999 Cr Hayes was the only nominee for the position of President and therefore was reelected.

Following his reelection Cr Hayes said that he would serve the community and the council to the best of his ability.

"I will duly, faithfully, honestly, and with integrity fulfil the duties of the office for the people in the Shire of Ashburton according to the best of my judgment and ability," said Cr Hayes.

At the same meeting, Cr Peter Foote was also reelected to the position of Deputy President for a further two years.

Newly elected councillor for the Paraburdoo Ward, Cr Linton Rumble was sworn in as well and reelected councillors, Lorraine Thomas (Tableland Ward) and Marie Fontana (Tom Price Ward) at this meeting.
