EXTRAORDINARY ELECTION – ASHBURTON WARD

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

An Extraordinary Election will be held on Saturday, 26 June 1999 to fill the following vacancy on the Council of the Shire of Ashburton:

Elections will be conducted as a voting in person election. Nominations for this vacancy opens on Thursday, 13 May 1999 and close at 4.00pm on Thursday, 27 May 1999.

To nominate, candidates are required to lodge with the Returning Officer:

a completed nomination in the prescribed form which has been signed and witnessed (forms are available from all Shire of Ashburton offices and the WA Electoral Commission);

a single A4 page profile of the candidate, containing not more than 150 words of information about the candidate;

where an agent lodges a nomination on a candidate’s behalf, a written authorisation signed by the candidate.

The documents may be hand delivered, posted, faxed or sent by other means, if available.

A nomination deposit of $80.00 must also accompany nominations, which must be received by the Returning Officer before the close of nominations.

The nomination places are either the Onslow Office (Second Avenue Onslow), Pannawonica Library (Pannawonica Drive, Pannawonica), Paraburdoo Office (Ashburton Court, Paraburdoo) or the Tom Price Office (Poinciana Street, Tom Price)
