TENDERS CALLED FOR ONSLOW EMERGENCY
BUILDING
The Shire of Ashburton has called for tenders for the construction of an Emergency Services Co Location Facility to be situated at Onslow. The Council has been working for some time towards the construction of a multi purpose Community Use Facility at Onslow incorporating an Emergency Services Co Location Facility. The Council has secured funding of $395,000 for the project from various state government agencies and included in this total is Council funding of $75,000, however a shortfall in funding of between $295,000 and $365,000 remains. Shire Chief Executive Officer, Mr David Carey said that depending on tenders received any remaining shortfall could be funded by the Council from either reserve funds for the Community Use Building or by additional borrowing's. "It is considered that the Council is now in an appropriate position to call tenders for the construction of Stage 1 of this project," said Mr Carey. "The design is complete, estimated costing is documented and funds have been secured for financing construction."
