Onslow Cyclone Vance Appeal - Thank You Western Power has recognised the hardship encountered by the people of Onslow as a result of the damage caused by Cyclone Vance and the addition costs to the Council that will incur in the recovery phase. Western Power has decided to waive the street lighting accounts for the month of March 1999, and to offer customers in the Onslow billing area a rebate of $25.00 on their next electricity account. Mercure Inn donated blankets and other household products. That Shire President and Councillors would like to thank Western Power and Mercure Inn for their kind offer. The Council and the Community of Onslow are very appreciative. AND a big thank you to all those people who donated clothing, furniture, toys and money to the Shire of Ashburton Cyclone Vance Appeal. |
