SHIRE SEEKS PUBLIC COMMENT ON RECREATION STUDYThe Shire of Ashburton has received a report from Jill Powell and Associates, which includes recommendations for the rationalisation of recreation facilities within the Shire. Shire President, Cr Brian Hayes said that the Council considers the report to be substantial and logical in terms of the facilities it has considered and the issues raised. "The Report outlines possible policies that could be developed in relation to Councils facilities and the management of them," said Cr Hayes. "Council considers that the recommendations of the study reflect the change that is occurring within the towns in the Shire." The final report will be available for community consultation, which will be carried out by Jill Powell and Associates in early May.
