THE SHIRE

The Shire of Ashburton covers 105,647 square kilometres and includes the towns of Tom Price, Paraburdoo, Onslow and Pannawonica. The Shire employs 100 staff, has a population of 7,300 and an annual budget of $8.6 million. Within the Shire’s vast area are the spectacular Karijini, Chichester and Millstream national parks, famous for their unique gorges, rivers, flora and fauna. Onslow is situated on the coast 1,377 kilometres north of Perth (sealed roads). It offers a diverse range of sporting and social activities, education to Year 10, hospital services etc. Excellent shopping and related facilities are available at Karratha (300 kilometres on sealed roads)

THE VACANCY

The successful applicant will provide administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and Manager Corporate Services. He/she will maintain Council’s profile in the western portion of the Shire and facilitate the achievement of its corporate objectives and strategies. A recognised tertiary qualification in Business Administration/Commerce or extensive administrative experience in a multi functional office environment is essential. Practical experience within a Local Government Environment will be highly regarded.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

A salary range of $36,618 - $39,380 is offered, in conjunction with generous superannuation benefits, a location allowance, subsidised accommodation and utilities, relocation assistance and private use of a fully maintained Council vehicle in accordance with Council Policy.
