The Council of The Shire of Ashburton consists of 9 Councillors representing 6 wards. The 2 Pastoral wards of;
are represented by 1 Councillor each and; The 4 town wards of;
have representation based on population. Tom Price, with the largest population, is represented by 3 Councillors, Paraburdoo, 2 Councillors and Onslow and Pannawonica are represented by 1 Councillor each. Each Councillor is elected to serve a four year term and there are no restrictions on the number of terms Councillors may serve. The President and Deputy Shire President are elected every two years by the Councillors. Council meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 10.30am, in various places throughout the Shire on a rotational basis. The majority of Council meetings are held in the Tom Price Council Chambers. If you would like to attend please phone to
